If something isn't being used, it quickly wears away until it no longer exists, freeing up some valuable FPS.Ĭorpses - In long running forts, especially evil biomes, you end up with a lot of toes, teeth, fingers, and limbs scattered all over the place. These modules have a general concept of "use it or lose it". After they have been on the map for even longer (default: 3 months), they collapse upon themselves, never to be reanimated. So, how does this script prevent that? With this script running, all undead that have been on the map for a time (default: 1 month) start to gradually decay, losing strength, speed, and toughness. Then those reanimate as well, and next thing you know, you have 300+ undead roaming the caverns and destroying your FPS. Then every previously living thing reanimates. What is an undead cascade? An undead cascade is when a forgotten beast kills a (living) troglodyte, then the now reanimated troglodyte kills the forgotten beast, then they both proceed to kill every living thing in the cavern. It mostly helps prevent undead cascades in the caverns. This was the original script, and probably has the least impact on vanilla gameplay. Fully modular, you can pick and choose which scripts you want or don't want. Some of the scripts alter gameplay, potentially significantly, but none of them hinder gameplay as much as single digit FPS does. I am already running the game at a mix of medium-ultra, though the Nvidia Experience suggests all ultra settings.

The most annoying part of the problem is, that I haven't seen any complaints or topics on this specific problem yet, just general performance issues. I kept messing around with settings, but nothing seemed to affect it. Fps dropped, stabilized to 60, and as soon as I opened and closed a container invetory, it dropped to 30 again. Weird enough, it never occurs while driving, when I expect most of the loading takes place.Īlthough it was immediately noticable when I first started the game and my survivors were in the abandoned military camp, which is sort of a mix between an interior and outer area. or when I am inside and the fps already normalized (stable 60 again after a while), I look into some container's inventory, as I exit from the inventory menu, the fps drops to 30 again, as if it intentionally drops and caps fps while it loads interiors or something.
